From Apprentice to Fully Qualified - Kyle's Journey

We are incredibly proud of Kyle, who in September 2024 successfully completed his Level 3 Signage Apprenticeship here at HEX Graphics.

Kyle finished school back in 2020 and initially pursued college, studying IT. However, he soon realised that he wanted a more hands-on career, ideally in the automotive industry, where his true passion lies.

Luckily for Kyle, The HEX Group was already familiar to his family—his Mum, Dad, and Sister all work at our sister division, Alpha Manufacturing. His Dad, who is the Production Engineering Manager there, mentioned the apprenticeship programme to Kyle, and the rest was history!

Starting with no prior knowledge of the graphics industry, Kyle has spent the last two years learning everything there is to know about vehicle graphics. Rotating through each of the departments within HEX Graphics, he gained hands-on experience in the entire signage development process, from conception to launch.

We asked Kyle how it feels to be fully qualified, he shared:
"Looking back on the last two years, it’s crazy to think how much I have learned, both personally and professionally.

I’ve always had an interest in the automotive industry, so when my Dad mentioned the apprenticeship programme—at a company where he and the rest of my family have worked for years—I knew I had to go for it!

Fast forward to today, and it’s great to feel trusted by my team. I’m now given my own workload to handle autonomously, confident in the knowledge and skills I gained during my apprenticeship.

Completing an apprenticeship was definitely the right move. I was able to learn while I earned, gaining valuable skills that I will use for the rest of my life. I also got to work on some incredible projects, such as helping to build the Ultima RS kit car and taking part in all the enrichment activities organised by the apprentice team.

I highly recommend an apprenticeship at The HEX Group to anyone considering this path, and I am excited to continue developing my skills as I progress in my career."
