Meet the Team - Oliver Peter
Ollie joined The HEX Group as a Level 3 Signage Technician Apprentice straight after finishing school in September, and he has since proven an invaluable member of The HEX Graphics team.
After his GCSEs, Ollie knew school wasn’t the right fit for him. He wasn’t keen on sixth form or university and wanted something more hands-on. Our annual apprentice open evening last year sparked his interest in graphics, and he’s not looked back since.
Since starting, Ollie’s been working under Will and Grace's wing, our fantastic apprentice team, who he says have been super supportive and fun to work with. He spends four days a week at The HEX Group and one day at Stafford College, getting the perfect mix of hands-on and theory learning.
Ollie's first rotation has recently finished, working in production, where he got to work at the forefront of graphics application, helping bring our customers fleets to life.
He has since moved into the graphics office to learn more about the logistical side of graphics.
Fully immersing himself into apprentice life, Ollie is looking forward to tackling the Tough Mudder event in July with the other apprentices to raise money for Race Against Blood Cancer, which is one of the many enrichment activities offered to our apprentices.
Once his two-year apprenticeship wraps up, he’ll be a fully qualified signage technician - and he’s pretty excited about what’s to come! This guarantee of becoming fully qualified applies to all of our apprentices throughout the group, ensuring everyone has a solid career path ahead.
When he’s not working, you’ll probably find Ollie at the gym, out running, or playing five-a-side football. He’s also a big Everton supporter.
